The story of this horological excellence began in 2014, when Bulgari introduced the first Octo Finissimo Tourbillon model. Since then, the brand has earned seven world records and more than 60 international awards, including the prestigious Aiguille d’Or at the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix.
The characteristic octagonal design of the Octo series draws inspiration from the coffered ceilings of the Basilica of Maxentius in Rome. This architectural heritage of the Eternal City is transformed into clean, modern lines in the hands of Bulgari designers. The aesthetic purity and sophistication of the new Octo Finissimo Ultra Tourbillon is further accentuated by its monochromatic gray appearance.
The 40 mm diameter watch is powered by the tourbillon BVF 900, a mechanical movement with manual winding that operates at a frequency of 28,000 vibrations per hour and provides a power reserve of 42 hours. Technical mastery is reflected in the skeletonization, which maximizes the passage of light through the mechanism and creates a fascinating interplay of contrasts.
The perfection of the watch lies in the harmonious combination of a tungsten carbide baseplate with a titanium case adorned with micro-beads. Two discreet stainless steel crowns and an integrated titanium bracelet with a profile of just 1.5 mm perfectly complement the ultra-thin appearance of this piece.
“Creating a new record is not just about overcoming obstacles – it’s about redefining what has been possible in mechanical watchmaking,” explains Jean-Christophe Babin, CEO of Bulgari.
