A timepiece that is not just an instrument for telling time, but a manifesto of unconventional aesthetics. HUBLOT presents the Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo – a limited edition of 300 pieces, born from a long-standing dialogue between the Swiss watchmaking manufacture and legendary Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto. Here, black is not merely a color, but a philosophy, the very essence of design, a space for experimentation and expression.
The 42 mm case, crafted from microblasted black ceramic, plays with light and shadow. The monochromatic “black on black” motif on the dial brings a subtle rhythm and dynamic that shifts with the movement of the wrist and the fall of light. The result is an understated yet striking composition that unites precision, detail, and contrast. The strap, combining textile and rubber, naturally bridges Hublot’s technical mastery with Yohji Yamamoto’s avant-garde approach to haute couture.
The collaboration between Hublot and Yohji Yamamoto transcends the boundaries of fashion and watchmaking. It is a dialogue between two visions: since 1980, Hublot has championed the “Art of Fusion” – boldly combining innovation with tradition, technical materials with artisanal craftsmanship. Yohji Yamamoto, on the other hand, has always used black as a symbol of resistance to convention and as a means to purify form and volume. In their joint creation, black becomes an active element that steps out from the background and allows the material and proportions to shine.
The camouflage motif on the dial, in Yamamoto’s interpretation, is not mere decoration but structure. Its embossed execution offers a subtle play of movement and light – remaining discreet, yet unmistakably recognizable. The smoked sapphire caseback reveals the automatic HUB1110 calibre with a skeletonized rotor, without disturbing the watch’s overall monochromatic character. The mechanical movement provides a power reserve of approximately 48 hours and is a testament to the manufacture’s technical prowess.
“For Yohji Yamamoto, black reveals the essential and purifies the form. At Hublot, we work with it as a living material, something to be shaped, layered, and modeled. Together, we share the belief that true luxury is not about ostentatious shine, but about permanence and timelessness,” says Julien Tornare, CEO of Hublot.
Each piece of this limited edition comes in a special All Black box signed by Yohji Yamamoto, an integral part of the design. The Classic Fusion Yohji Yamamoto All Black Camo is available at selected Hublot boutiques.
