La Beauté Louis Vuitton opens a new chapter. For the first time, Nicolas Ghesquière and Dame Pat McGrath are translating their long-standing creative dialogue into a limited-edition beauty collection. Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge embody two distinct characters, two moods and two interpretations of the Louis Vuitton woman. What unites them is the iconic Monogram, celebrating its 130th anniversary this year.
At Louis Vuitton, beauty and fashion come together long before a model steps onto the runway. For more than two decades, Dame Pat McGrath DBE has been the creative force behind the beauty looks of the French Maison’s shows. When Nicolas Ghesquière took on the role of Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton, their creative dialogue developed a distinctive and instantly recognisable signature.
Now, for the first time, that dialogue has evolved into a standalone limited-edition cosmetics collection within La Beauté Louis Vuitton. This is more than simply a meeting of fashion and make-up. Its starting point is the very identity of Louis Vuitton and one of the Maison’s most powerful symbols – the Monogram.
BEAUTY AS PART OF THE SILHOUETTE
“Beauty has always been an integral part of how I think about the silhouette – it completes the character, attitude and emotion of the entire look. With La Beauté Louis Vuitton, we are taking that vision beyond the runway. It is a way of allowing the Louis Vuitton woman to bring that expression into her everyday life,” says Nicolas Ghesquière, Artistic Director of Louis Vuitton.
The long-standing collaboration between the two creatives lies at the heart of the new collection. McGrath and Ghesquière did not begin with a conventional brief or a list of products. Instead, they drew on the creative process they have developed together over years of working backstage at Louis Vuitton shows.
“Nicolas and I have been creating beauty looks together backstage at Louis Vuitton shows for so many years that we understand each other almost without words: there is a trust and creative harmony between us. What we have created for La Beauté is a natural continuation of our creative dialogue,” explains Dame Pat McGrath, Creative Director of Cosmetics at Louis Vuitton.
“The products did not begin with a specific brief – they began with a feeling, the same feeling we create together backstage before every show. And that is precisely what makes this collection so special. It is not a collaboration in the traditional sense. It is the next evolution of our partnership.”
TWO CANVASES. TWO TEMPERAMENTS.
The result is Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge – two complete beauty worlds inspired by Louis Vuitton’s iconic canvases and created in celebration of the 130th anniversary of the Monogram.
Softness and strength. Light and shadow. Intimacy and boldness. The collection explores the duality of femininity through a limited range of products for the eyes and lips. Each world has its own colour palette, atmosphere and character, yet together they create a single portrait of the contemporary Louis Vuitton woman.
MONOGRAM DUNE: BEAUTY IN TONES OF LIGHT
Monogram Dune draws inspiration from the ever-changing beauty of the desert landscape. From light that shifts in intensity, colour and depth throughout the day, and from the natural shades of sun-warmed sand.
The palette is defined by delicate beiges and nude tones that feel almost like a second skin. It is a world of understated elegance, natural radiance and a quiet confidence that never needs to be loud.
“Monogram Dune make-up is radiant and warm. It moves through the world with understated confidence. Its beauty is timeless and effortless, making it all the more compelling,” says Dame Pat McGrath.

MONOGRAM INFRAROUGE: RED, BLACK AND ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE
While Monogram Dune embraces softness, Monogram Infrarouge is defined by intensity. Its inspiration comes from the striking contrast of the Monogram Infrarouge canvas, where deep black meets luminous red.
The result is a far more dramatic interpretation of the Louis Vuitton woman. Bold, confident and uncompromising, her make-up is no longer simply an accessory – it becomes an expression of attitude.
“Infrarouge is the counterpoint to Dune – bold, contrasting and uncompromising. It does not ask for attention. It simply commands it. There is depth, drama and a degree of audacity that is utterly fascinating,” says Dame Pat McGrath.

LA BEAUTÉ LOUIS VUITTON AS AN EXTENSION OF FASHION
Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge position beauty not as a separate discipline, but as a natural extension of Louis Vuitton’s fashion identity. Ghesquière’s exploration of silhouette, character and femininity meets Pat McGrath’s exceptional instinct for colour, light and the transformative power of make-up.
The two collections therefore offer two answers to the same question: what does the contemporary Louis Vuitton woman look like? In one incarnation, she is enveloped in warm tones and light; in the other, in red and black. In both, however, the defining element remains the same – her individuality.
The limited-edition La Beauté Louis Vuitton Monogram Dune and Monogram Infrarouge collection will be available online and at selected Louis Vuitton boutiques from 27 August 2026.
