The Roman jeweller celebrates Chinese New Year with a collection brimming with rubies, rose gold and iconic serpent motifs.
Chinese New Year is an occasion to celebrate new beginnings – and no one captures these quite like Bvlgari. To mark the arrival of the Year of the Horse, the Roman jewellery house presents a selection of exceptional creations that combine festive symbolism with unmistakable Italian craftsmanship.
At the heart of the collection is a special edition horse brooch, inspired by an archival design from the 1970s. This piece represents 130 hours of design work and 50 hours of goldsmithing. Crafted in yellow gold, the brooch is set with more than 40 ruby cabochons, pavé diamonds and black onyx details. As a modern talisman, it embodies courage, freedom and forward momentum – qualities the horse symbolises in Chinese tradition.
Other house icons also don their festive attire. Serpenti Viper, Bvlgari’s most definitive interpretation of the mythical snake, reveals ruby details that reference prosperity and good fortune. Hypnotic scales in rose gold take shape as a necklace with a coiled pendant and a single-spiral bracelet. The collection is complemented by the Serpenti Pallini necklace in rose gold, adorned with iconic gold beads inspired by the maison’s 1950s savoir-faire. Diamonds and rubies on the serpent’s head and tail enhance the jewel’s allure.
The Year of the Horse is also celebrated with a limited edition Serpenti Seduttori Automatic watch featuring a ruby-red guilloché dial. It is powered by an in-house automatic movement measuring just 19 mm in diameter. The world of accessories expands with the Serpenti Cuore 1968 handbag in Light Amethyst with its signature snake-shaped handle, and its miniature counterpart, the Serpenti Cuoricino, in Royal Ruby and Dusty Pink.
