How to brush your teeth properly? CURAPROX opens its course to the public

Clean teeth do not decay. It sounds simple, yet many people still fail to put it into practice. This is exactly what CURAPROX EDU, a training centre in Prague, is building on as it opens its course to the public. In just over two hours, participants learn how to care for their teeth and gums properly at home.

Home care matters more than most people realise. Healthy teeth and gums affect the overall condition of the body, everyday comfort and the prevention of further problems. In many cases, the difference does not lie in the toothbrush itself, but in the technique. Even a high-quality tool loses its value if it is used incorrectly.

CURAPROX EDU was established in central Prague, on U Železné lávky street. As the only centre of its kind in the Czech Republic, it has long focused on training dental hygienists and now also offers a course for the general public. Its aim is to teach participants the basics of thorough oral care and give them confidence in their daily routine.

In doing so, CURAPROX continues the Swiss philosophy it has been developing since 1992. The brand places emphasis on functionality, precision and tools that reflect the real needs of users. That is one of the reasons why its products have been recommended by professionals around the world for more than three decades.

The course does not replace a visit to a dental hygienist. It complements it. It helps people understand what they should be doing at home, which tools to choose and how to use them effectively.
The programme lasts a little over two hours and is divided into two parts. In the theoretical section, participants are introduced to the principles of oral hygiene, the importance of proper brushing, the selection of suitable tools and the correct technique. The second part is devoted to practical training. The course costs CZK 490, and each participant also receives a set of tools selected according to their individual needs.

We were guided through the course by dental hygienist Mgr. Lucie Kročilová, DiS., one of the expert guarantors at CURAPROX EDU.
Quality tools begin with the right choice

Once the technique is mastered, the next step is choosing the right tools. And that matters more than it may seem.
“Toothbrushing is, as we see every single day, a very underestimated skill. It is important that it feels as comfortable as possible for patients — that is highly motivating, which is why properly chosen tools play such an essential role,” says dental hygienist Mgr. Lucie Kročilová, DiS.

Classic CURAPROX toothbrushes are known for their ergonomic handle, distinctive design and, above all, their dense, gentle bristles. Their high bristle count helps remove plaque effectively while remaining gentle on the gums.

The most popular option is the CS 5460, designed for ultra-gentle cleaning and for sensitive teeth and gums. This is also the line with the widest range of colours and limited editions. Other options include the CS 3960 and CS 1560. The system is simple: the higher the number, the more bristles the brush has, and the gentler the cleaning experience.

For those looking for more intensive care, CURAPROX offers the hydrosonic toothbrushes Curaprox EASY and PRO. Their high-frequency bristle movement helps remove plaque more thoroughly, including from areas that are harder to reach. Another practical benefit is the choice of modes, which helps users keep track of brushing time.

Interdental spaces deserve special attention. Plaque often remains there, and many problems start there as well. That is why interdental brushes should be part of everyday oral care. CURAPROX offers a wide range of sizes, with gentle yet durable bristles, as well as different product lines for different needs. The Prime line is particularly popular, while Perio is better suited to larger gaps. A practical and more sustainable option is the refill system with replaceable brush heads.

When even a daily routine has style

CURAPROX has long shown that functionality and design can work together naturally. The limited-edition CS 5460 Dell’Arte includes two ultra-soft toothbrushes inspired by the Italian Renaissance and the tradition of street theatre.

Another new release is the limited-edition CS 5460 Love, designed by New York-based jewellery designer Kia Schwaninger. Inspired by the colours of gemstones, the collection works with shades of red, orange and purple. It celebrates love, creativity and passion, turning an everyday object into a detail that brings pleasure day after day.
