Lela Vémola: “Femininity is not about perfection. It’s about being true to yourself.”

One of the Czech Republic’s best-known influencers, Lela Vémola is followed by hundreds of thousands of people. Beyond social media, she is first and foremost a mother of three and a woman who has built a strong personal brand over the years. We spoke with her about motherhood, beauty, discipline and living under constant public attention.

Lela Vémola

Lela, today almost everyone knows your name. But if you were to introduce yourself, who are you first and foremost?

First and foremost, I’m a mother. It’s the role that has changed me the most and reminds me every day of what truly matters in life. Of course, I love my work, social media and the projects I’m involved in, but today everything revolves around my family.

You have built one of the strongest personal brands on Czech social media. Was that your intention from the beginning?

Not at all. It happened naturally. I simply shared my life, and people became interested. Over time, I realised that this also comes with great responsibility. That’s why I choose every partnership and every recommendation very carefully.

Your photographs always look flawless. How much work lies behind what people see on social media?

Much more than most people imagine. Every photo involves preparation, organisation and all the everyday responsibilities that naturally never make it onto Instagram. But this is my job, and I genuinely enjoy it.

Motherhood has been a defining part of your life for several years. What has it taught you about yourself?

That I’m much stronger than I ever thought. My children have taught me patience, humility and the ability to appreciate the simple moments. Those are often the ones that matter the most.

Do you think women today are too demanding of themselves?

Absolutely. I think we often put enormous pressure on ourselves. We want to be perfect in every role we have. But I’ve learned that perfection doesn’t exist. What truly matters is feeling comfortable in your own skin.

Beauty has accompanied you throughout your career. Has your definition of beauty changed over the years?

Completely. When I was younger, I associated beauty mainly with appearance. Today I believe the most beautiful women are those who are happy with themselves. Confidence, kindness and positive energy leave a much stronger impression than perfect makeup.

What does self-care mean to you today?

It isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. When a woman feels good physically and mentally, it naturally reflects on her family, her work and everyone around her.

You live under constant public attention. Is that something you can ever truly get used to?

You learn to separate what matters from what doesn’t. The opinions I value most are those of people who actually know me. They matter far more than comments from strangers online.

What values do you hope to pass on to your children?

Humility, kindness and a strong work ethic. I want them to understand that success never comes overnight and that character will always be more important than popularity.

Looking back, what are you most proud of?

Without question, my family. Career success is wonderful, but home is where I find true happiness.

Finally, what does being a woman mean to you today?

To me, being a woman means being strong while remaining kind. It means caring for others without forgetting yourself. And above all, having the courage to stay authentic, regardless of what the world expects from you.
