There are journeys that are far more than simply travelling from one destination to another. They become celebrations of craftsmanship, design and culture. For more than 170 years, Louis Vuitton has embodied this philosophy, and this September the Maison revives one of its most iconic traditions. Taking place from 1 to 4 September 2026, the Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run 2026 marks the return of a legendary event that has long united exceptional classic automobiles with some of the world’s most breathtaking landscapes.
When the Art of Travel Becomes a Way of Life
Few luxury houses are as deeply connected to the spirit of travel as Louis Vuitton. Since its founding in 1854, the Maison has created trunks, luggage and travel accessories that have accompanied aristocrats, explorers and visionaries across the globe.
This heritage inspired the creation of the Louis Vuitton Classic Run in 1993, an extraordinary series of journeys that took participants through the rainforests of Malaysia, the vineyards of Tuscany, the mountain passes of China and the historic landscapes of Central Europe.
After several years, this iconic tradition returns.
From Venice to Monza Through the Heart of the Dolomites
The 2026 edition will lead participants on an unforgettable 600-kilometre journey.
The adventure begins in romantic Venice and at the magnificent Villa Pisani in Strà, before winding along the Riviera del Brenta and into the spectacular Dolomite Mountains, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This is not a race of speed.
Owners of some of the world’s most remarkable historic automobiles will compete in a regularity rally, where precision, consistency and elegance matter far more than outright performance.
Every kilometre celebrates Louis Vuitton’s enduring philosophy: travel as an art of discovery.
Where Automotive Heritage Meets Formula 1
The journey reaches its grand finale in Monza, the legendary “Temple of Speed.”
As part of the opening of the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix™, the participating historic automobiles will parade around the iconic Autodromo Nazionale Monza, creating a unique encounter between the heritage of classic motoring and the cutting edge of modern engineering.
The public will also have the opportunity to admire the extraordinary collection of cars displayed in the courtyard of the Villa Reale di Monza, one of northern Italy’s most significant historic landmarks.
A Legacy That Began More Than a Century Ago
Louis Vuitton’s relationship with the automobile dates back to the very beginning of motoring.
In 1897, Georges Vuitton designed the Maison’s first trunk specifically created for automobiles. Its revolutionary flat lid replaced the rounded trunks of the era, allowing luggage to be stacked efficiently and transforming the future of travel.
This innovation was followed in 1905 by the legendary Sacs Chauffeurs, specially designed bags with a perfectly circular shape created to fit around the spare wheels of early automobiles.
The Dolomites Classic Run pays tribute to this remarkable heritage.
A Trophy Designed as a Work of Art
The event will conclude with an elegant awards ceremony at Castello Sforzesco in Milan, where the winning crew will receive a truly exceptional trophy.
Created by renowned designer Sabine Marcelis and crafted by the prestigious Venetian glassmaker Venini, the trophy itself is a masterpiece of contemporary design.
It will travel in an equally extraordinary Louis Vuitton Trophy Trunk, handcrafted by the Maison’s artisans and representing the highest expression of Louis Vuitton’s savoir-faire.
“Victory Travels in Louis Vuitton”
Under its celebrated motto, “Victory Travels in Louis Vuitton,” the Maison has spent decades creating bespoke Trophy Trunks for the world’s most prestigious sporting events.
These include the FIFA World Cup™, Roland-Garros, the NBA, the Formula 1 Grand Prix de Monaco™, the Ballon d’Or®, the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024, the Australian Open, the Davis Cup, and many more.
Each Trophy Trunk represents the perfect union of craftsmanship, innovation and sporting excellence.
A Journey That Never Truly Ends
The Louis Vuitton Dolomites Classic Run 2026 is far more than a motoring event. It is a celebration of the values that have defined the Maison for more than 170 years—exceptional craftsmanship, timeless elegance, cultural heritage and an enduring passion for travel.
From Venice through the majestic Dolomites to Monza, this extraordinary journey reminds us that true luxury is never simply about reaching the destination.
The greatest luxury is the journey itself.
